Job Description:
  • Be the first point of contact by greeting clients and students at the reception area
  • Manage the agenda for all employees including meeting scheduling
  • Maintain inventory and proceed with purchasing when necessary
  • Manage all letters, mail, faxes, and other received products
  • Write, format, and edit communications and translate as needed across all departments
  • Assist HR department for the preparation of materials for new employees
  • Proceed with the decorations for various holidays and office events
  • Communicate with the landlord for office maintenance such as ventilation, renovation, etc.
  • Communicate wit the Ministry of Education for administrative files
  • Communicate with the office in Ontario for any issues related to office management
  • Responsible for all aspects related to the covid-19 pandemic (reports of cases, maintenance of adequate protective equipment’s, etc.)
  • Maintain the sanitary and safety of all rooms including classrooms
  • Responsible for the security system of the college including entrance and alarm code
  • Coordinate any delegated projects
  • Any other duties delegated by the supervisor

Requirements

  • Hold a DEC, AEC in administration, secretarial studies or equivalent
  • Have at least 2 years of experience in the field
  • Master the Microsoft Suite including WORD and EXCEL
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials according to the academic requirements of the College
  • Prepare, administer and grade exams and assignments to assess student progress
  • Encourage active participation from the students, in classrooms and online
  • Manage students' different levels of ability and learning
  • Maintain order and discipline during the course while promoting safety and respect for the rules and directives of the College
  • Actively participate in staff, group or other meetings related to the academic program, organization and administration of the College
  • Apply and respect the policies of the College
  • Ensure the health and safety of students under its responsibility

Requirements

Nature of the position

Reporting to the Director General, the person in this position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling activities related to human resources management. He/she collaborates in the definition of orientations in human resources management and exercises collaborative leadership in order to support the implementation of conditions that facilitate the attraction, mobilization and development of individuals and the organization.


Responsibility

  • Be the first point of contact for employees including, but not limited to, complaints, communications, benefits issues, etc;
  • Manage the entire recruiting process for all departments, including drafting job descriptions, headhunting, screening, interviewing, reference and background checks;
  • Conduct orientation and onboarding sessions for new employees;
  • Manage the entire termination process, including exit interviews;
  • Work closely with the finance department to manage payroll;
  • Accompany and support managers in the management of their work teams and in the application of various policies, including disciplinary matters and all other HR aspects;
  • Develop, implement and monitor the human resources action plan, policies and programs;
  • Administer the group insurance plan, including renewal and change of provider, if applicable;
  • Develop training plans and development programs for the continuous evolution of the employee life cycle at Milestone;
  • Serve on the Management Committee and play an active and strategic role in the implementation of the strategic plan;
  • Ensure the management of employment contracts and teaching licenses for teachers;
  • Maintain HR records and databases to ensure accuracy;
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment and occupational health and safety laws;
  • Plan, organize and direct all employee events and activities;
  • Any other responsibilities as delegated by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of specialization such as Human Resources Management or Industrial Relations
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in human resources or management
  • CHRP or CRIA designation is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the educational system is considered an asset
  • Collaborative leadership and strong teamwork skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, approachable
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Good analytical and synthesis skills
  • Be bilingual, both orally and in writing
